Artist's Comments

Okey Dokey, here is the second version in this series and everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) has changed in one way or another....new planets...new water...new textures (most done by hand with clone and an obscene amount of smudge, lighten, burn, etc.). I know this one actually has stars so that kind of messes up the title, but whatever right?

You can check the first version of this piece here:

Unfortunately when I made the original file I was still new to terragen and did not save the settings file so I am not able to re-render it, but I can tweak it a little in PSP8 :-)

Comments and suggestions always welcome and appreciated. I will return all comments when I get a chance by taking a stroll through your gallery and picking a couple of works that catch my eye.

Thanks!!

Wow this is beautiful, very creative, I love the planet and the textures. Very nice job. Better than what I can do with Terragen.

Truely amazing work. I love it all the way around. Well done my friend! :D

Excellent! There's so much to look at.

I especially like the more subtle stuff - smoke, mist, clouds, etc.

Great piece.

pretty sweet composition here. nice effect with the stars (glitterato?) although the first thing that threw me was the left planet - perhaps a bit more detail in places where the gradient is showing... lunarcell plugin could help you there. Nice cloud mists used and the top right planet is done well too. Not sure about the main planet texturising, looks a bit iffy, but the water is superb. Basically, the right half of the image is divine, whilst the left could do with a bit more tweaking, but you're working well here - great stuff :)

Thanks for the comment! Glitterato (yes), Lunar Cell (Yes), textures I totally agree. That's what was throwing me off...I couldn't quite put my finger on it but I think the planet is a little too sharp in comparison as well.... I'll tweak it this weekend if I have time.

Thanks for the comment!

Thanks man! I really put a lot of effort into this one, glad you approve :-)

You didn't get the CD's?!?! That's what I get for using the US Postal service. I will just send them FedEx I guess. I will try to burn another copy this weekend and send them to you. Man, that totally sucks - no wonder you didn't get back to me! hahahaha

Thanks for the comment man! Keep the good stuff coming

Like I said it had a LOT of texture tweaking and such done to it. More Paint Shop pro 8 than anything really...

Thanks much for the comment. You're on my "followup and comment" list :-)

Whoa, surreal. I love the composition.

Thank you very much man! I am glad somebody noticed that smoke, hahaha. I wanted it to look like lava vents coming up from the ground (sublt tie in with the reddish glow under the water)....maybe a little too subtle. :-)

You are on my follow up and comment list now! Thanks for the encouragement, it is appreciated!
