Silent Echoes

Footsteps echo down the hall
spectres of a lifetime past.
Neither here nor there at all
each one loud as thunder claps.

Sometimes in this life it seems
we turn our ears toward shadow's songs.
Reality is blurred to dreams
with foosteps marching ever on.

All the lives that we all live
be they fake or so sincere.
Rich or poor, take or give
a common thread in all appear.

Lessons learned from heroes past
thoughts of lives that never were.
As we walk our lifetime's path
footsteps echoes fill our world.

Every choice will add another
some in rythm some offbeat.
Father, mother, sister and brother
echoes march in unseen feet.

Stain Glass Eyes

You see the world through stained glass eyes.
Your own perceptions cloud your view.
Distorted concepts fan the fire
that's burned so long inside of you.

Colors forming distant rainbows
always just beyond your reach.
Sunk so far in your delusions
the cracks etched in your soul run deep.

You close your eyes, then ease them open
darkness greets you either way.
Never thinking how you've spoken
or who your words have drove away.

Bitterness is your companion
Contempt is always by your side
Hatred burns like desert sand and
in the dark you choose to hide.

You always take the easy path
never choosing self control.

Slowly open up the cover
music slowly comes to life.
Emotions dancing with each other
as love twirls hand in hand with strife.

Tireless in her portrayal
the ballerina starts to spin.
Verbal sunsets fill her canvas
with every step she paints with wind.

Her face a mask of constant beauty.
Dancing, twirling, dip and sway.
Knowing nothing but her duty
she dances on day after day

I gently reach my hand to touch her
to see the worlds within her eyes.
Briefly brushing stone cold skin
then frame by frame I watch her die.

Slowly topples over and over
In her final dance she glides.
Shatt'ring on the floor beneat

Sacrificial Tears

Heartbeat pounding in my ears
surely they can hear my pain
All the lies have now revealed
the one who's snatched my dreams away.

Great ambitions filled my head
dancing as they call to me.
But now my dream is left for dead
as teardrops form a crystal sea.

Slow my breathing, try to see
from eyes that's been sealed for so long.
Cover ears that tend to lean
toward the deadly siren's song.

Flesh so scorched from searing words
that cracks appear around my heart.
An outward show of inward hurt
A soul that's ripped and torn apart.

Silence now surrounds my breathing
teardrops falling far below
sounds like thunderclaps receding
down

Loves First Kiss

Two hearts passing in the night
taking notice of their twin.
Stop and gaze in awestruck wonder
gazes locked and drawing near.
Noses brushing in the darkness
Breathing ceases for an instant
gently lover's lips caress
nervous giggles thrill the heart
feeling hearts beat in their chest
Exhale deeply, smile and listen
to the song of love's first kiss.
Diving headfirst into wonder
Both encompassed in its bliss.
Take me from your gilded box
wrap my frame in blissful song.
Walk with me and hold my hand
Hold me closely as I fall.
See the world through my eyes
Hear the music with my ears
Feel the breezes with my hands
Wet your chee
